Pregnant and breast-feeding mothers do not have to worry about their moderate coffee intake because it is recommended to drink 2 to 3 cups of coffee on a daily basis. The main reason behind this is that coffee has recently been proven to be full of disease fighting benefits, so when you enjoy it in moderation, you can count on reducing your risk for diabetes, cirrhosis of the liver, and even Alzheimer's.
However, these same benefits may not hold true for infants because the main effect of excessive coffee drinking on babies is sleeplessness. As you are caring for your infant, there is nothing wrong with moderate coffee drinking as an adult, but it is not something that should be given to small children.
